Land connections of the main stay cables of 1915 Çanakkale Bridge…

Land connections of the main stay cables of 1915 Çanakkale Bridge are planned to be located in Lapseki on the Asian side and in Gelibolu on the European side.

Anchor blocks are massive structures that are extremely large in terms of mass and are used in wide-span bridge constructions to create the anchoring points to which the main stay cables of the bridge are to be connected.

To provide replaceability in consideration of possible maintenance requirements, the tendons have been designed to consist of parallel-driven galvanized cables. Thus, in contrast to usual practice, the tendons have been placed unbonded, while corrosion protection in the sheaths has been ensured by dry air circulation.
